Position Summary:

Quality Documentation Specialist is responsible for the collection, verification, and configuration control of technical data supporting mission-critical space and high-reliability programs. This role ensures all manufacturing, inspection, and test documentation is complete, traceable, and delivery-ready in support of customer delivery and acceptance requirements.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Data Package Preparation
    • Collect, compile, and verify quality and technical documentation, including manufacturing, inspection, and environmental test reports.
    • Own documentation issues end‑to‑end by working cross‑functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality to resolve gaps, discrepancies, or non‑compliances through final closure.
  • Inspection & Production Support
    • Support pre-cap and final source inspections through thorough documentation review, preparation, and coordination.
    • Perform product inspections per written procedures, work instructions, and applicable standards
  • FAI, FAR, and Continuous Improvement
    • Facilitate the preparation and completion of First Article Inspections (FAI) and Failure Analysis Reports (FAR) in coordination with Engineering and Quality teams.
    • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on documentation accuracy, traceability, and data flow efficiency.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Strong attention to detail with a proven focus on documentation accuracy and traceability.
  • Experience with configuration control, revision management, and quality record practices in a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate cross-functionally.
  • Familiarity with AS9100, IPC standards, J-STD-001, or government contract requirements is preferred.
  • Experience with ERP or configuration management systems is preferred.
  • Background in quality documentation or configuration control from any regulated industry is preferred.
  • Must be able to work with ITAR data without a license;  Eligibility for and ability to maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.

Education, Experience and Training:

  • Associate’s degree or relevant technical coursework (preferred).
  • 2+ years of experience in quality, manufacturing, inspection, documentation, or configuration control.
  • Applicable military technical or quality experience is highly valued

Physical Requirements and Working Environment:

  • This role is performed on-site and primary an in-office role. 
  • Must be able to lift up to 15lbs at times.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must adhere to safety policies and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
